No te engañes corazón · Juan D'Arienzo · 1940

Do not be deceived, heart, by his love, by his lie. Do not forget that she is a woman and that, at birth, she made a feeling out of deception. She lies when she cries, lies when she laughs, She lies when she suffers and when she loves. Lies when swearing false passion, do not deceive yourself, heart. It grieves me to see you with her on your arm, if she gave me the slip, what she won't give you. Listen to me, I who am your old friend I want to give you some good advice, get rid of her and it will be good for you. Maybe she'll cry and get desperate and tell you that she loves you, old woman's ruse. Don't believe that she only loves you, if she swore that until death, she would be mine alone. Don't let yourself be deceived, my heart, by his love, by his lie. Don't forget that she was mine and that someday you may regret it. If you have to cry with great pain she will mock your love. Don't forget that she is a woman, do not let yourself be convinced. Do not believe that it is envy or spite, for all the evil she has done to me, that makes me talk to you like this. You well know that there is no envy in my breast, that I am a straight man, that I am as I always was.
