Sebastian Bolivar

Sebastian Bolivar (also written Sebastián Bolívar in source titles) is a tango dancer ^[2][3]. His best-documented partnership is with Cynthia Palacios, whose name is spelled in several ways across the sources: Cynthia, Cinthia, Cyntia and Cyinthia ^[1][2][3].

The recorded milestones of his career run from 2019 to 2026 ^[2][8]. The earliest dated video of the couple was filmed with Cuarteto Mulenga in 2019 ^[2]. A competition placing at the Mundial is reported for 2021 ^[3], and the Tango de Pista title followed on 17 September 2022 ^[4]. After that he performed at festivals as a world champion ^[5]. He also took on jury and exhibition roles in the Tango BA competition circuit and at its European edition ^[6][7][8].

Competition career

A claim attributed to Diario Río Negro records that Bolivar placed second at the Mundial with Cynthia Palacios in 2021 ^[3]. The headline of that article, however, describes Cinthia Palacios and Sebastián Bolívar as world champions who "se consagraron en el Mundial de Tango" ^[3]. Sources therefore differ on what the article reports, and this placing is treated here as disputed.

On 17 September 2022, Bolivar won the Mundial de Tango in the Tango de Pista category, from a final of 40 couples ^[4].

Performances

A video by Cuarteto Mulenga shows Sebastián Bolivar and Cynthia Palacios dancing to "Tus palabras y la noche" ^[2]. It was filmed in 2019 and is described as the earliest dated video of the couple ^[2].

In 2023 Bolivar performed as a world champion at the Sultans Tango Festival in Istanbul ^[5]. The video of that performance is titled with the piece "Intimas" and presents Bolivar and Cynthia Palacios as "World Tango Salon Champions" ^[5].

On 15 March 2026 he gave an exhibition at the Zárate preliminary ^[7]. Its source reports the start of the Tango BA 2026 preliminaries ^[7].

Jury work

In 2025 Bolivar sat on the jury of the European Tango Championship in Bellaria-Igea Marina, held from 26 to 29 June ^[6]. The source presents that event as the Mundial de Tango BA in Europe ^[6].

In 2026 he was a juror for the Tango de Pista category at the Cipolletti preliminary, held from 10 to 12 July ^[8]. That source reports it as part of the Mundial de Tango BA ^[8].

Partners

A video aggregator lists a number of dancers as partners of Bolivar ^[1]. They are listed exactly as recorded:

- Cyinthia Palacios ^[1] - Cynthia Palacios Vamos'cu ^[1] - Cyntia Palacios ^[1] - Fabiana Vidarte ^[1] - Estefania Arias ^[1] - Cantan Marcelo Tommasi ^[1] - Carmen Úsuga ^[1] - Agustina Paez ^[1] - Clarisa Aragón ^[1] - Dilara Ogretmen ^[1] - Ekaterina Simonova ^[1]

Several of these entries appear to be spelling variants of Cynthia Palacios, the partner named in the competition and performance sources ^[1][2][3]. The listing itself keeps them as separate entries ^[1]. The source gives no dates or context for any of the partnerships ^[1].
