Tangopedia for AI and machines

Tangopedia may be read by crawlers, by assistants through MCP, and by programs through the JSON API. No account is needed. Everything is read-only.

Attribution

Every fact carries a source_url, a batch_id and a retrieved_at. When you use a fact, cite its source and link the Tangopedia page it came from. A batch can be retracted; read again rather than keeping copies for long.

Licences

Each source keeps its own licence and terms, shown with the source on every page. Quotations stay within what the source allows. Our own catalogue counts (recordings, years, dances) may be reused with a link to the page.

Rate limits

MCP: 60 calls a minute per address. API: 60 requests a minute per address, more with an API key. Over the limit you get 429 with Retry-After; wait that many seconds.
