El corazón me engañó · Juan D'Arienzo · 1940

Español

Volveremos a vernos algún día Ya no puedo quererte... me dijiste… Volveremos a vernos algún día Ya no puedo quererte...

We'll see each other again someday I can't love you anymore... you said to me... The lilt in your voice was so sad And I was so sad... that I kept silent. I paused to look at you... it seemed Reflected death in your gaze, And instead of asking... I said nothing... And so, without saying anything... I walked away. You see brother, that everything In this world is forgotten, It is a fatal law of life... My heart was telling me. Later, when I felt alone And knowing that I loved you, I realized that on that day The heart deceived me! It's been six months, my life How much, how much I've cried, if you knew, For what reason I let you tell me Those your words... and I kept silent... We'll meet again someday I can no longer love you... God!... how horrible To think that your love is impossible And I will never... never, love, forget you.
