Yo soy de Parque Patricios · Ángel D'Agostino · 1944

Castellano

I am from Parque Patricios I was born in that neighborhood, with its cars, with its mud... In the humility of its streets with honeysuckle fences I learned to face life... In those beautiful times of the percal and flowery water, with guitars in its nights and little organs in their afternoons. I am from Parque Patricios old neighborhood of yesterday... My neighborhood... old time... Lantern, bedpan, full moon, old railings, black braids and a sigh in a balcony... Majorales... quartermasters... the girls of my times.., today they return to the memory that burns my heart. Today everything, everything has changed in the neighborhood, new faces and I am old... My hair is a snowy flower and in my soul a thousand nostalgias I am a shadow that lives... Remembering those times that their absence revives me, of my rendezvous at five corners... and of those clear eyes. I am from Parque Patricios evocation of my yesterday...
