Senda florida · Roberto Firpo · 1928

Castellano

Along this path where a beautiful nightingale sang happily over an old window, along this path I have poured from my childhood the arrogance of my years of splendor. Here, from the song of the breezes, I learned the harmonies of a singular joy, and the radiant dawn with its dazzling corolla of lights taught me to adore. Beautiful path where my soul learned to love, where with my pleasant games I spent the first years that can never come back. Happy years that I adored with vehemence under the sun of innocence that made me tender. I am a goldfinch that flies, flying, and its song is leaving with infinite fervor, for on your path that is full of splendors, with the most fragrant flowers I made my nest of love. In a bend of your path is my home, where my beloved, with sweetest emotion, tells life the beauty that floods it, with the words she modulates in her song. Flowery path that I will never forget; Blessed path where I drank the joys, and that you have perfumed the longed-for joy of seeing me flooded with a blue future.
