Contents

A prologue of two chapters precedes Part 1, The Sextet (1928–1935), and Part 2, The Orchestra (1938–1959). Part 2's chapters run in date order and end with Di Sarli in ten tangos. Part 3, The man & the myth, covers his early years and his views on tango. The appendices cover Di Sarli on disc, a discography, the orchestra formations and carnival appearances, followed by a bibliography, a glossary, a note on terminology and structure, and an index of titles.

Contents, pp. viii–ix

Discography

Appendix B is divided by period and label: sextet recordings on RCA-Victor (1928–1931); recordings backing Mercedes Carné on Brunswick (1931–1932); orchestra recordings on RCA-Victor (1939–1948); Music Hall recordings dated 1951–1954; RCA-Victor (1954–1958); and Philips (1958). The book treats the Music Hall dates as uncertain. It notes that the exact dates published by Akihito Baba on CTA reissues are of unknown origin and conflict with the Boletín Oficial. Appendix A gives a curated selection of CDs.

Appendix B, pp. 226–237 · Music Hall date note, p. 234
