Not only yesterday the tango It was the emotion, Of our youngsters. The same is today It is sung, from the heart, In all the neighborhoods. It became saddened by wise men And an old love, With a blue and wisteria. And it was a song on the lips Of the most cantor, At the corner meeting. Thus was born the round of the tango Simple and loving. Round, round of the tango That overturns the motives, Simple and sad That are in oblivion. Round, round of the tango In each melody, There's always some memory It speaks to us of other days. Sweet emotion of the neighborhoods That pass the hours, Singing, singing. And in each verse painting With tango lyrics, To the old suburb.
