What do the pitucos, licks and shushetas know! What do they know about tango, what do they know about compás! Here is the elegance. What a look! What a silhouette! What poise! What arrogance! What class to dance! This is how the lawn is mowed while I draw the "ocho", for these watermarks I am like a painter. Now a run, a turn, a sit.... That's how you dance the tango, a tango of my flower! That's how you dance the tango, Feeling in your face, the blood that rises with each beat, while the arm, like a snake, coils around the waist that is about to break. This is how the tango is danced, mixing the breath, closing your eyes to listen better, how the violins tell the fueye why since that night Malena did not sing. Will she be a woman or a reed, when she makes a break? Will she have a spring or a rope to move her feet? What is certain is that my garment, that my "worse is nothing", dancing is a beast that makes me go crazy... Sometimes I wonder if it's not my shadow that always chases me, or a being without will. But it's just that he was born like that, pa' la milonga and, like me, he's dying, he's dying to dance!
