El vino triste · Juan D'Arienzo · 1954

Castellano

Friends say that my wine is sad, that I no longer have the stamina for liquor, that I'm a suitcase that can no longer resist of the caña brava or the macho taste... And the fact is that everything that exists has died already and between drinks I want to kill my rancor... I'm always drunk since you left, I am always drunk... but it is of pain... My friends, to all I ask forgiveness if bitter and sad you see me crying... I want to tame my emotion but I loosen up too like every man. My friends, when you have a regret in your heart, you can't help it that the wine becomes heavy and weeping like the sad fluttering of my song. Friends say that I'm not the same, that today as soon as I drink I don't want to talk, to corner myself with my pessimism and that they haven't heard me sing for a long time... And they don't know that it's not the drink but that I'm lacking air and light, that in my soul I carry a bleeding wound and I go through life carrying my cross...
