Tu angustia y mi dolor · Alfredo Gobbi · 1954

Castellano

¡No! ¡No puede ser lo que me pides! ¡No!

How can you ask your rose bush not to give you roses? Who can silence the melodious bird? How can you beg the fountain not to tell you things? That's asking the heart to give up for dead the illusion that breathes in each palpitation. No! It cannot be what you ask of me! It can't be! How can I forget you? Who wants to take you out of my life? I guessed something strange in our farewell. Today, through your lighted window I saw, that you were crying desolately y my poor shadow in love cried your anguish and my pain.
