Alberto Mastra

Alberto Mastra was born on 9 November 1909 ^[4]. In 1926 he crossed to Buenos Aires and toured the Argentine interior ^[1]. In 1933 he formed his first trio, El Trébol ^[1].

Mastra was also a composer. He wrote the milonga Maldonado in 1943 ^[2], and he is credited as the composer of Un tango para Esthercita ^[5]. Between 1944 and 1958 Troilo recorded several of his works, with the singers Alberto Marino, Edmundo Rivero, Aldo Calderón and Roberto Goyeneche ^[1]. Mastra died in Montevideo on 10 April 1976 ^[3].
