Jorge Dispari

Jorge Dispari was a tango dancer recorded in the sources as born in 1957 ^[4]. One account states that he fell in love with the milongueros at the age of seventeen, which places that event around 1974 when counted from his birth year ^[1]. He died on 21 June 2020 ^[2].

Dispari's career, as documented here, centred on dancing and teaching. He met María del Carmen 'La Turca' at Club Sin Rumbo, a meeting dated to 1982 ^[1]. He began teaching around 1988, first with his daughter Geraldin ^[1]. He later taught with La Turca, including a tango and milonga seminar in Bahía Blanca in June 2011 ^[3]. A demonstration series titled 'Tango Villa Urquiza', performed with La Turca, was posted online around 2006 ^[2].

A video listing names several dancers as his partners, giving some names in forms that differ from those used in other sources ^[5]. Whether some of these names refer to the same person is not established by the sources ^[1][5].

Early life and influences

The sources give 1957 as Dispari's year of birth ^[4]. One account states that he fell in love with the milongueros at seventeen ^[1]. The year for this, about 1974, is inferred from his birth year and is not given directly ^[1].

The same account names José 'El Turco' Brahemcha as his teacher ^[1]. It dates Brahemcha's death to 2010 ^[1]. The sources give no further detail on what Dispari learned from him or when their study began ^[1].

Partnership with La Turca

Dispari met María del Carmen 'La Turca' at Club Sin Rumbo, a meeting dated to 1982 ^[1]. An article about the couple, published by Soy Milonguera with a reference to Tangodanza 48, has a title that pairs 'Jorge Dispari y Marita 'la Turca'' with a tribute to the great milongueros of earlier times ^[1].

Around 2006 their demonstrations under the title 'Tango Villa Urquiza' were posted online ^[2]. In June 2011 the couple taught a tango and milonga seminar in Bahía Blanca, which a local newspaper covered ^[3].

Teaching

Dispari began teaching around 1988, about 23 years before 2011 ^[1]. He first taught with his daughter Geraldin ^[1]. He later taught with La Turca, including the 2011 Bahía Blanca seminar ^[3].

Around 2006 Barry Hashimoto studied with Dispari for three months ^[2].

Partners

A video listing names the following dancers as partners of Jorge Dispari ^[5]: - Maria Carmen ^[5] - Marita Dispari ^[5] - Maria la Turca ^[5] - t Marita ^[5] - Silvana Anfossi ^[5] - Claire Loewe ^[5] - ALESSIA Leoni ^[5]

The listing gives no dates or contexts for these partnerships ^[5]. Several of the names (Maria Carmen, Marita Dispari, Maria la Turca and t Marita) resemble the 'María del Carmen 'La Turca'' and 'Marita 'la Turca'' named elsewhere ^[1][5]. The sources differ in how they write these names and do not state whether they are the same person ^[1][5].

Death

Jorge Dispari died on 21 June 2020 ^[2]. The sources give no place or cause of death ^[2].
