Modesto Papavero was born on 16 August 1899 [5]. The available sources describe a career connected largely with the theatre: a comic musical farce, revues and an operetta [1]. Within that theatrical setting he wrote "Leguisamo solo" for a revue at the Bataclán, and Tita Merello gave its first performance [1].
Other works attributed to him include "Sosegate Feliciano" (1928) [2] and "Muñeco al suelo" (1930), written with Venancio Clauso and dedicated to Justo Suárez [3]. He died in Mar del Plata in 1965 [4].
History
Papavero's earliest recorded work is from 1920, when his comic musical farce "Luna confidente" was staged at a school [1].
In 1924 he scored the revue "A vestirse caballeros" at the Teatro Cosmopolita [1]. On 15 June 1925 he was associated with the revue "En la raya lo esperamos" at the Bataclán, for which he wrote "Leguisamo solo"; Tita Merello premiered the piece [1].
His theatrical work continued into the 1940s. In 1942 he wrote the operetta "Más pudo el amor" with Andrés Darín for the Teatro Marconi [1]. Papavero died in Mar del Plata in 1965 [4].
