Cucuza Castiello

Cucuza Castiello was a tango performer born on 27 February 1969 who sang from childhood at the peña Luna de Buenos Aires and later formed the Dúo Maaaría!! with guitarist Gabriel Genlote [1][2]. His tango Tibieza won the Hugo del Carril prize in 2005 [1].

Cucuza Castiello, listed in one biography as Hernán Cucuza Castiello, was born on 27 February 1969 [1][2]. The available sources describe a career as a singer that began in childhood and continued through duo work and songwriting in the 2000s [1].

The dossier groups this entry with orchestras. However, the source material describes the activities of an individual singer, his duo and his compositions, and gives no information about an orchestra [1].

History

As a child, around 1975, Castiello sang at the peña Luna de Buenos Aires alongside Goyeneche and Rubén Juárez [1]. In 1986 he sang at Michelangelo, accompanied by Cacho Tirao [1].

In 2003 Castiello formed the Dúo Maaaría!! with guitarist Gabriel Genlote [1]. In 2004 the duo performed at the Café Homero [1].

Repertoire

In 2005 Castiello received an honourable mention in Andá a cantarle a Gardel, and his tango Tibieza won the Hugo del Carril prize [1]. In 2007 Tibieza was included in Juan Vattuone's show Ciudad oculta at the Buenos Aires Tango Festival [1].
