Mariana Montes is a tango dancer and teacher. The available sources date the start of her dancing and teaching with Sebastián Arce to 1998 [2]. A listing records her as a partner of a number of other dancers [1].

Mariana Montes is a tango dancer whose recorded career centres on her partnership with Sebastián Arce, with whom she began dancing and teaching in 1998 [2]. The two were interviewed together by Mephisto Tango in 2004 [3], and they performed together at Milonga Nacimiento in London in 2025 [4].

A listing records Montes as a partner of a wider group of dancers. These include Andrés Cejas, Alejandro Brener, Utku Küley, Pablo Garcia, Fernando Galera, Anibal Lautaro, Leandro Oliver, Fernando Sanchez, Rodrigo Fonti, Jonatan Aguero and Edwin Espinosa [1]. The available sources are mainly performance and interview videos. They give no details of her birth, training or early life [1][2].

Career with Sebastián Arce

Montes began dancing and teaching with Sebastián Arce in 1998, according to the source for this period [2]. The same listing names Arce as one of her partners [1].

In 2004 Montes and Arce were interviewed together by Mephisto Tango [3]. The video of the interview is titled "Inside Embrace" [3].

The partnership was still recorded in 2025, when Montes performed with Arce at Milonga Nacimiento in London [4]. The video of that performance describes the event as the milonga's anniversary edition [4].

Other partners

Besides Sebastián Arce, a listing names the following dancers as partners of Montes [1]:

- Andrés Cejas [1] - Alejandro Brener [1] - Utku Küley [1] - Pablo Garcia [1] - Fernando Galera [1] - Anibal Lautaro [1] - Leandro Oliver [1] - Fernando Sanchez [1] - Rodrigo Fonti [1] - Jonatan Aguero [1] - Edwin Espinosa [1]

The listing gives no dates or other details for these partnerships [1].

Performances

In 2026 Montes performed with Jonathan Agüero at Portutango [5]. The video of that performance identifies the music as "Color Cielo" by Juan D'Arienzo [5].

The sources spell this partner's name in two ways. The partner listing gives "Jonatan Aguero" [1], and the Portutango performance gives "Jonathan Agüero" [5]. The sources do not state whether both spellings refer to the same dancer.
