Dancer

Diego Riemer

Diego Riemer is a tango dancer, referred to in some source titles as "El Pajaro" [2][3], who has been recorded with a large number of dance partners [1]. Dated appearances run from the Brussels Tango Festival in 2006 [2] to the Berlin Festival Milonguero in 2026 [6], and include exhibitions and teaching at Práctica X [3][4] and an appearance as guest dancer and guest DJ at EMBRACE Berlin [5].

Diego Riemer is a tango dancer [1]. The titles of a 2006 festival video and a 2008 Práctica X blog post call him "El Pajaro" [2][3].

A video listing records him dancing with more than twenty partners, including Belèn Giachello, Mercedes Espinel, Natalia Cristóbal Rivé and Eleonora Kalganova [1]. Other dated sources describe specific events. In 2006 he was filmed with Mercedes Espinel at the Brussels Tango Festival [2]. In 2008 he gave an exhibition with Maria Belén Giachello at Práctica X and taught that venue's October seminar with her [3][4]. In 2015 he was listed as a guest dancer with Natalia Cristóbal Rivé and as a guest DJ at EMBRACE Berlin [5]. In 2026 he performed with Giachello at the Berlin Festival Milonguero, which also listed him among its DJs [6].

Sources differ in how they render the name of his partner Giachello. Whether some partner entries in the listing refer to the same person is not established (see Disputed) [1][3].

Career

The earliest dated source is from 2006. That year he was filmed dancing with Mercedes Espinel at the Brussels Tango Festival [2]. The video title gives his name as "Diego Riemer (El Pajaro)" [2].

In 2008 Riemer was active at Práctica X, where he worked with Giachello. A blog post headed "martes 30/SEP - bailan EL PAJARO y BELEN" announced an exhibition by him and Maria Belén Giachello on 30 September 2008 [3]. A separate post on the same blog, titled "SEMINARIO octubre 2008", described him as teaching the October seminar at Práctica X with Giachello [4].

In 2015 he appeared on the "who is who" page of EMBRACE Berlin. There he was named as a guest dancer, partnered with Natalia Cristóbal Rivé, and also as a guest DJ [5].

The Berlin Festival Milonguero of 2026, held from 16 to 19 July, listed him as a performer with Giachello [6]. The festival also listed him among its DJs [6].

Dance partners

A video listing records Diego Riemer with the following partners [1]:

- Belèn Giachello [1] - Maria Filali [1] - Mariana Dragone [1] - Cristina Scimè [1] - Eleonora Kalganova [1] - Judita Zapatero [1] - Claudia Jakobsen [1] - Cecilia Piccinni [1] - Natalia Cristóbal Rivé [1] - Alejandra Mantinan [1] - Sigrid van Tilbeurgh [1] - Natalia Ochoa [1] - Raquel Greenberg [1] - Chris Benson [1] - Pamela Damiá [1] - Maria Bélen [1] - Victoria Vieyra [1] - Rocio Lequio [1] - Belén Mallorca [1] - Belén Al Dirwandi [1] - Mercedes Espinel [1]

The same listing also contains partner entries titled "MECHA take", "Juan D'Arienzo Georgina" and "Francisco Fiorentino Recostao" [1]. Their exact meaning is not clarified by the dossier [1].

Of these partnerships, three are also documented by dated, independent sources. The partnership with Mercedes Espinel is documented at the Brussels Tango Festival in 2006 [2]. The partnership with Giachello is documented at Práctica X in 2008 and at the Berlin Festival Milonguero in 2026 [3][4][6]. The partnership with Natalia Cristóbal Rivé is documented at EMBRACE Berlin in 2015 [5].

Teaching and DJing

Beyond performing, Riemer has also taught and worked as a DJ. In 2008 he taught the October seminar at Práctica X with Giachello [4]. He was named as a guest DJ at EMBRACE Berlin in 2015 [5]. He was again listed among the DJs at the Berlin Festival Milonguero in 2026 [6].
