Discepolo debuted as an actor on 22 October 1917 at the Teatro Apolo, in El chueco Pintos, staged by Roberto Casaux. [1] In 1918 his first play, El duende, opened at the Teatro Nacional. [1] He wrote it with Mario Folco. [1]

### First tangos

In 1925 his first tango, Bizcochito, was sung at the Teatro Nacional in the play La Porota. [1] It was sung by Juan Carlos Marambio Catán. [1] In 1928 Esta noche me emborracho became a hit in the voice of Azucena Maizani. [2]
