Juan Malizia

Juan Malizia is a tango dancer [1]. He placed third in the Tango de Pista category of the Mundial de Tango in 2013 [4] and won the Tango Escenario category in 2014 [5]. From 2012 he partnered with Manuela Rossi [3].

He also worked in film. In 2014 he played the young Juan Carlos Copes in the documentary 'Our Last Tango' [3]. In 2023 he had a leading role in the film 'Ariel', which he choreographed with Manuela Rossi [3].

Career

In 2010 Malizia danced an exhibition at La Viruta with Florencia Roldán [2]. The video of that exhibition is titled with the tango 'Mala Junta' [2].

In 2012 Malizia and Manuela Rossi became partners [3]. The pair were still performing together in 2026, when they danced at El Motivo in Buenos Aires on 10 August 2026 [6]. The video of that performance names the pieces as 'Zum' and 'Bando negro' [6].

Competitions

At the Mundial de Tango, Malizia placed third in the Tango de Pista category, with a date of 26 August 2013 [4]. In 2014 he won the Mundial de Tango in the Tango Escenario category [5]. The sources consulted do not name his partner for either result [4][5].

Film

In 2014 Malizia played the young Juan Carlos Copes in the documentary 'Our Last Tango' [3]. In 2023 he had a leading role in the film 'Ariel' [3]. He choreographed the film's dancing together with Manuela Rossi [3].
