Color cielo · Juan D'Arienzo · 1944

Castellano

Eyes that will never shine With the warm sun of their glow, Sky-colored eyes that gave me The deep fire of their love. What a sad fate your pupils had When they were so cruelly extinguished, my beloved, Sky-colored in your gaze, like the blue sky That in my solitude will live. My poor heart Will search for you without ceasing, love, It will remember our happy yesterday That will never return. Color sky in the look that I adored That the same heaven mercilessly took from me, What a cruel truth it was for me To lose so, your great love. My loneliness will always seek That blue sky that I dreamed of, From your big sky-colored eyes Like a kiss from you to my pain. If I could shatter, my beloved The eternal night that covers your pupils, A new sky will return, in your faithful gaze But you will never live.
